About Us

Friends in Action is dedicated to sustaining quality of life and independence for frail elders and their families. Our programs and services are focused on advancing self-management skills and well-being of caregivers and the elders they care for. All of our services are provided through volunteers and in collaboration with multiple community partners.

Background Screening Requirement

In order to be a volunteer with Friends in Action, a program affiliated with the Jannus each candidate is required to have a criminal background check completed prior to begining their service.

Friends in Action, as a nonprofit organization, typically incurs the cost of all background checks conducted on our volunteers.

If you would like to help us dedicate more of our limited funds to supporting our mission, please consider paying for your background check via your personal credit card (speak with your Friends in Action administrator if you have any questions).

By purchasing your background check yourself, you will help us provide additional services to those in need.
