About Us

The Berrette Family Foundation, Inc was established by Bernice Innocent in February 2010 as a result to a lifelong dream to give back to the community that was always so generous to her. Realizing that all children are not created equal and are not afforded the same opportunities, Bernice created The Berrette Family Foundation in order to address the needs of those students who do not know where to turn for support or do not realize their own potential.

Orest Berrette is Bernice's maternal grandfather. It is said that he was a man of valor, who stood for respect and dignity. He was prominent in his community in Haiti and currently has children and grandchildren, upholding the family mantra of working hard and doing what is right for others. It was only right to start an effort in his name.

Our Mission

Realizing that not all students are privileged or exposed to the knowledge needed to maximize their potential, The Berrette Family Foundation stands as a medium for the exposure of those students in the District of Columbia and Baltimore Metropolitan Areas.

Our Vision

Making educational resources visible and attainable to first generation high school students born of immigrant parents. Providing students with professional coaching, increasing the probability of success leading our children to maximized life opportunities. Guiding students to leaders of tomorrow.
