About Docs in Progress
Docs In Progressis a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization based in downtown Silver Spring, Maryland. We are governed by a Board of Directors which currently has five members.
Docs In Progress gives individuals the tools to tell stories through documentary film to educate, inspire, and transform the way people view their world.
Vision
Creating community through documentary film
Docs In Progress creates and fosters a supportive community for documentary filmmakers. By developing, encouraging, and celebrating new and diverse voices in documentary film, we also seek to deepen the public's experience, understanding, and appreciation for documentary as a form of art and expression. We do this by offering an array of programs aimed at aspiring and experienced documentary filmmakers and the broader community.
Background screening Requirement
In order to be a volunteer or employee with an organization affiliated with the National Council of Nonprofits or one of their State Associations, each candidate is required to have a criminal background check completed prior to begining their service.
The Docs in Progress, as a nonprofit organization, typically incures the cost of all background checks conducted on our volunteers.
