About Us

Montana Audubon, together with local programs, supports and promotes court appointed volunteer advocacy for abused and neglected children so they can thrive in safe, permanent homes.

Our 15 local non-profit groups work together for the welfare of Montana’s children, providing them with a voice, a hope, and a future. These programs provide trained volunteers as advocates to children in some 60 percent of the abuse/neglect cases throughout the state. These local programs service 40 counties and provide more than 500 trained volunteers. In 2009 these volunteers served over 30,000 hours on behalf of more than 1,000 children.

Background Screening Requirement

In order to be a volunteer or employee with Montana Audubon, an organization affiliated with the National Council of Nonprofits or one of their State Associations, each candidate is required to have a criminal background check completed prior to begining their service.

Montana Audubon, as a nonprofit organization, typically incurs the cost of all background checks conducted on our volunteers.
