Our Mission

To accelerate generational change, Friends of the Children identifies youth facing the toughest challenges and connects them with professional mentors who guide them to develop their greatest potential and achieve their goals. From kindergarten through high school graduation, no matter what.

Background Screening Requirement

In order to be a volunteer or employee with Friends of the Children Central Oregon, an organization affiliated with the National Council of Nonprofits or one of their State Associations, each candidate is required to have a criminal background check completed prior to beginning their service.

Friends of the Children Central Oregon, as a nonprofit organization, typically incurs the cost of all background checks conducted on our volunteers.

If you would like to help us dedicate more of our limited funds to supporting our mission, please consider paying for your volunteer background check via your personal credit card (speak with your Friends of the Children Central Oregon administrator if you have any questions).

By self-purchasing your volunteer background check, you will help us provide additional services to those in need.
